In the seventh week of Instant Pulse, we asked the sector the following question:
How much do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
“Opportunities exist to allow me to network with and learn from others in the sector.”
How did you respond?
What else did you tell us?
“It is good networking within the natural heritage sector but difficult to access good contacts outside the sector who are sympathetic or could offer good insight and support..”
“There are opportunities, but generally as one-off occasions, rather than a more regular forum”
“That’s what the Heritage Trust Network is all about!”
“I haven’t returned to in-person events so I miss the coffee chats and casual meet-ups but online events and chats still help me connect to people.”
“Time is generally the enemy – I’m lucky enough to be able to manage my own time so not an issue for me personally. Post pandemic there are certainly plenty of online opportunities – it’s a matter of putting yourself forward into the conversation via asking questions/chat etc. Also making full use of Linked In/.”
“I feel more could be released from paywall because of the low salary of the sector. Also a larger resource bank for all this learning to come out of the last couple years could be made, not sure which org it would be under. A lot of the networking is not easy to find but it is there.”
